Radway Permanent

100km PARTY

This is not just one Perm but two. You can decide to ride the on-road version (109km, 690m of climbing) or use the off-road version (116km, 760m). Or even ride it twice and compare the separate routes!

Both rides start and finish at the Shell petrol station in Dean Row near Wilmslow, while the Unicorn Inn next door is a good place to recover after your ride. There is free parking in the near-by layby on Wilmslow Road.

The controls are in the same place for both versions, Cuddington and Radway Green. and both rides pass the highly recommended café at Whitegate Station (open 7 days but get there before 2:30), but it’s not a control.

There are two different eBrevet codes already set up depending on the direction ridden so make sure you download the correct version. If you don’t use eBrevet, you can also use the traditional method of collecting till receipts, or simply record your progress and submit the GPX file (but not a Strava link).

Audlem on-road Perm (MW09-1309-2026-03-06)

This uses plenty of pleasant Cheshire lanes through Peover and Davenham to the first control at Cuddington. The next leg passes the Whitegate Station House Café on the way to the next control at Radway Green, where you can get a hot drink from the Spar shop, or you can detour to Alsager for a Costa. The final section returns to Dean Row via Smallwood and Siddington.

Audlem off-road Perm (MW09)

This is suitable for gravel bikes but road bikes will be fine if it’s not too wet. You stop at the same controls (Radway Green and Cuddington) and can visit the same non-control Whitegate Station cafe, but in a clockwise direction. The off-road sections include:
• Sandy Lane before Swettenham has a ford (but use the footbridge) and a landslip, both of which are probably best on foot
• a couple of gates when crossing the Dane after Swettenham
• Pools Lane at Brookhouse Green, not really off-road but it’s little used so can be a bit mucky
• a short stretch of bridle way alongside Bottom Flash in Winsford
• the entire Whitegate Way
• the Swains Walk bridle way at Over Tabley
