A picturesque Brevet Populaire in the Yorkshire Dales with a sedate minimum speed of just 10kph.
Start and finish from the Victoria Insitute in Caton, so the entry price of £16.00 includes breakfast and supper (Vegan and gluten free options too) and also a distinctive sew on cloth event badge. Controls are either via eBrevet or commercial and info and there will instant validation on the day.
From Caton along mainly quiet lanes to Settle. From here you might come across riders on ‘A Bit Dented 150’ and ‘Stumped and Dented 200’ but there is a bit of a route change from last year. Due to a landslip and road closure in Dentdale, all three routes will then probably go to Dent via a new control at Ingleton followed by a climb of spectacular Kingsdale and great descent of Deepdale. The climb after Dent is steep and short but rewarded with a long descent of beautiful Barbondale. Over Devils Bridge and just a few km along quiet lanes back to Caton.
Caton is easy to get to, being just 8km from Lancaster which is situated on the West Coast Mainline and adjacent to the M6 motorway. There are a number of budget hotels in the area.
