St Asaph Permanent

200km PARTY Peak Audax SR

This was originally the eastern half of the Llanfair PG 400 as a 200. You can also ride that 400 as the Holyhead-Phrestatyn 200 , or as Holyhead-Poynton or even Poynton-Holyhead

Greenway Chester

Traffic-free cycling through Chester City Centre

This Perm can be ridden with the eBrevet. The ride starts and finishes in Dean Row, and nips over the border to one of Britain’s smallest cities at St Asaph. The first leg involves an easy crossing of Cheshire through Delamere Forest, from where it’s all down hill to Mickle Trafford. The Cheshire Greenway takes you through the centre of Chester on a traffic-free but well engineered cycle path.

After a first cafe stop in Shotton, you encounter the first main climb of the day, out from Flint up to Halkyn Mountain. It’s not really a ‘mountain’ at only 263m high but it commands great views of Liverpool and the Wirral.

Descend to St Asaph and up the Clwyd valley to Denbigh. The cimb back over the Clwydian Hills then starts in earnest with a crossing of Moel Arthur at 345m .Note that this climb is avoidable if you follow the A541 valley road through Bodfari. Either way, you return to Shotton and back onto the Chester Greenway.
Return to Dean Row through Weaverham and Lower Peover.
