An Icecream Wensdae

Wednesday 8 April 2026

Do you fancy a ride on the Wednesday following the Easter weekend? Then join us in Marple for the Icecream Wensdae . The ride counts towards the PARTY award.

With the schools still closed for the Easter break, reaching Marple for the 10am start should be relatively easy. The ride starts from Marple Girl Guides Hut where you’ll be welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee. There is no parking at the Guide Hut. However, there are paid car parks in the town centre and plenty of free on street parking, with convenient parking for the finish around recreation ground.
Or arrive by train at Marple or Rose Hill Stations.
The finish is at Marple Services and Forces Club with free refreshments

Great Budworth

Cycling through the picturesque village of Great Budworth

The ride starts from Marple Girl Guides Hut. There is no parking at the Guide Hut. However, there are paid car parks in the town centre and plenty of free on street parking, with convenient parking for the finish around recreation ground.
The finish is at Marple Services and Forces Club .

The ride sets off from Marple through Middlewood, Wilmslow, Ashley, Bucklow Hill to reach Great Budworth. After lunch at the Icecream Farm cafe, we return through Plumley and Peover to Bollington and back to Marple. That last 10 miles or so can be a bit lumpy, but you can return along the Middlewood Way from Bollington if you wish.

Please note that we can’t handle entries on the line, but it’s really easy to enter the event, either online or through the post (see link in the info box).

There is nowhere to leave panniers, so what you bring goes with you on the ride.

This is a gentle ride to Great Budworth. If you want something more strenuous, you can instead ride the Hills Dales and the Monsal Trail 100, which starts at the same time and place.
