The permanent version of the Winter Solstice calendar event, a route deliberately chosen for its lack of climbing, so it makes a good ride for those riding ‘fixed’. If it’s a flat ride, with quiet lanes and the option of several welcoming cafes that you are after, this is a ride for you.
This Perm can be ridden with e-Brevet, and can be ridden in either direction, which makes for two quite different rides.
You can ride on any date other than the Winter Solstice 200 Calendar event.
From the edge of Stockport, you head out over the Cheshire Plain to Davenham, crossing the Weaver to Whitegate and Beeston. You cross the Dee at Farndon to enter Wales at Holt before returning to England through Malpas and Whitchurch to Market Drayton.

Return to Stockport through Shavington Park to Tattenhall, then skirt Nantwich and Middlewich.
The controls at Holt and Tattenham aren’t available outside early-till-late shop hours so choose your start time accordingly, or use the eBrevet app or submit your GPX track for validation.
