PARTY

Do you fancy a ride on the Wednesday following the Easter weekend? Then join us in Marple for the Icecream Wensdae . The ride counts towards the PARTY award .
The level crossing at Middlewood
The level crossing at Middlewood

With the schools still closed for the Easter break, reaching Marple for the 10am start should be relatively easy. We start from Marple, with parking in the car park off Hollins Lane, next to the fire station. Or arrive by train at Marple or Rose Hill Stations.

The ride starts at Marple Guide's Huts where you'll be welcomed with a cup of tea or coffee for a 10am start. We've been asked not to park in the library carpark, as it's in use all day by library users as well as visitors to the nearby Day-care Centre. There is a handily placed car park on Hollins Lane, just next to the fire station, or free street parking around the recreation ground nearby.

The ride sets off from Marple through Middlewood, Wilmslow, Ashley, Bucklow Hill to reach Great Budworth. After lunch at the Icecream Farm cafe, we return through Plumley and Peover to Bollington and back to Marple. That last 10 miles or so can be a bit lumpy, but you can return along the Middlewood Way from Bollington if you wish.

The finish is at Marple Services and Forces Club .

Please note that we can't handle entries on the line, but it's really easy to enter the event, either online or through the post.

There is nowhere to leave panniers, so what you bring goes with you on the ride.

This is a gentle ride to Great Budworth. If you want something more strenuous, you can instead ride the East Peak & Winnats 100 , which starts at the same time and place.
